The Policy & Planning Division of MoA has launched the country-stat website recently. The country module has been customized and developed based on the statistical framework of FAOSTAT. The FAOSTAT is a world-wide on-line database for management of statistical data on food and agriculture, hosted by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The country STAT will integrate information and data available with various agencies of the Ministry and make its avalability uniform. The available data will help in proper planning of the geog, district and the central programs. While the details can be accessed through www.rnrstat.bt/csbhutan, the objectives of launching the country STAT are: - to create better methodologies for validation, compilation, organisation of statistical data supported by metadata and dissemination for analysis, planning and policy formulation, - to make the updated RNR statistical data available on the internet for access by general users. The data users need not any longer spend time visiting the data providers or write letters for data. The data becomes available right in front of you if your computer has internet connection, - to ensure only one gateway for dissemination of RNR statistical data to help mprove data analytical quality of users at the national level and the quality of FAOSTAT statistical data at the international level,
